This Recert course discusses the instructor evaluation process in depth, beginning with a review of fire department policies and procedures that affect instructor qualifications. It then identifies the methods for fire service instructor evaluation and introduces the evaluation process, and it discusses how to provide feedback to the instructor being evaluated and how to develop class evaluation forms.

After completing this course, the fire instructor will be able to:

• Describe the role of providing feedback to the fire service instructor using an evaluation.
• Describe how to develop a class evaluation form.

Fire instructors who successfully complete the Evaluating the Fire Service Instructor course are eligible for 1 hour of continuing education.
