This interactive lecture provides an overview of prehospital pain management situations. It will help you understand the various types and phases of pain, and how to deal with them. This module will also cover the different clinical protocols for administration of analgesia, and the importance and techniques of monitoring and documenting during the different phases of pain management.

After completing this course, the practitioner will be able to:

• Correctly assess pain for patients of all ages.
• Understand pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management protocols and treatment options.
• Critique the National Association of EMS Physicians position paper on prehospital pain management.
